progress
Exciting examples of the beginnings of sustainability with a family today: The hand washing station we built two months ago is refilled when water runs out! The vegetables we planted three weeks ago are growing!

Almeda
Had a lot of fun visiting Almeda Moree-Sanders, my friend and fellow Peace Corps Volunteer, at her site this weekend. She lives in the Hadiya Zone of SNNPR.

Eliyas and Meseret
In only about 20% of home visits is the father present so it's always lifts the spirits when the father is an active and engaged participant, like Eliyas was today.
Meseret fed her child the enriched porridge we made, then made delicious coffee for all of us. So glad to be working with this family!

rodent
Finally saw the rat/mouse I hear scampering around at night. It enters from the ceiling above the head of my bed! Thank goodness for my mosquito net!

Another impressive Hawassa haul. Particularly exciting: honey roasted peanuts, raisins, couscous, broccoli, butternut squash.

baby
It's funny how "My name is not baby." sounds pretty much identical to "I don't eat baby." in Amharic. Both are true, BTW.
